Azariy Lapidus was born in Moscow on 23 May 1958.
In 1980, he graduated from V.V. Kuibyshev Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MISI-MGSU) majoring in the Theory of Structures.
In 1988, he defended a Candidate of Sciences thesis before the Scientific Council of the Institute of Integrated Design of Residential and Public Buildings and was awarded the degree of Candidate of Science in Engineering.
In 1997, he defended a Doctor thesis and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Science in Engineering.
In 2002, he was awarded the academic title of Professor.
Since 2012, he has been the Head of the Department of Technology and Organization of Construction Operations, Federal State Budget Educational Institution of Higher Education “Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (National Research University)” (MGSU).
Since 2010, he has been the editor-in-chief of Scientific and Technical Journal “Construction Operations” (formerly entitled “Technology and Organization of Construction Operations” published since 2012, and “Technical Regulation. Construction. Design. Survey” published since 2010).
PUBLIC ACTIVITIES
Member of the Urban Planning Council of the Construction and Land Relations Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
Vice President, member of the Council of the National Surveyor and Designer Association.
Member of the Guardianship Council of the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering.
Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal “Construction Materials, Equipment and Technologies of the 21st Century”.
Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal “Construction Orbit”.

Azariy Lapidus makes reports at international applied research conferences and takes part in international forums.
SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES
Azariy Lapidus is D.Sc. in Engineering, Professor, Counselor of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences.
He has been the advisor of twelve successful theses of Candidate of Sciences in Engineering.
He is the scientific supervisor of ten postgraduate students and two doctoral students in the disciplines of the Department of Technology and Organization of Construction Operations.
Azariy Lapidus is the editor-in-chief of the Scientific and Technical Journal “Construction Operations”.
He is the author of over 130 research articles and publications in the field of construction, including a monograph entitled “Organizational Design and Management of Large-Scale Investment Projects”. He has coauthored federal textbooks of “Building and Structure Technology” and “Construction Process Technology”.
He has developed and substantiated the term of “Organizational structure designing in construction”.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Azariy Lapidus started his professional activities in the department of Installation Testing of V.V. Kuibyshev MISI Institute in the position of an engineer and research worker engaged in engineering survey in construction. During the last twenty years, he has successfully combined research and practical work.
He has been in charge of over 100 large-scale projects (including those covering an area of more than 1 million square meters), such as OJSC Gazprom, residential complexes in Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Tyumen; shopping centers in Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Kazan; office buildings in Moscow.
He was also the officer in charge of construction of the EXPO 2010 exhibition complex in Shanghai in China.
He is currently running industrial and civil construction projects in Moscow, the Moscow Region (over 100,000 square meters), and Omsk (over 200,000 square meters).
